We’re spending a few days enjoying Blanco State Park, located in Blanco, TX not far from Austin and San Antonio. This is a smaller state park with the beautiful Blanco River flowing through it. The water is clear and cool – a great place to be on a hot summer day.

The park has several full hookup RV sites — a very nice feature for a state park. Those sites  go early, in fact, the park is quite full most weekends. If you want a full hookup site, make reservations — and make them early.

The park also offers screened shelters for camping. You can rent a shelter and then add a tent for a nice camping experience. The shelters, in fact, have the best overview of and access to the river.

People love swimming, floating, fishing in, and, in general playing in the water. Tip: Camp as close to the restrooms as possible for the best WIFI.
